How it started

My nephew wants to learn chess. He rarely finds anyone to play with.

Chess apps put him on a glass screen. Store-bought smart boards cost $200 or more. DIY kits ask a kid to solder, wire and write code.

So I built him a chess partner. It talks, it teaches, and it plays on a real board with real pieces.
